~My Story…

My story as a Star Wars fan began back in the good old year of 2002 when my father took me to the local cinema to go see a movie called Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones. As the movie progressed I found that I was intrigued by this franchise and after it was all over I began a Star Wars fan. However I wasn’t as much of a fan as I am now. Back then I used to just collect the movies and books. Heck I didn’t even have a Lightsaber or Blaster back then. But after I purchased my copy of Episode III Revenge of the Sith on DVD I found myself at a crossroad. Did I continue to be a Star Wars fan, despite the fact that at the time I thought the franchise was coming to it’s end or did I just drop off the radar? I took door two, for a couple different reason, the main reason being because I fell victim to bullying all because I WAS a Star Wars fan. However as the years went by I began to hear subtle rumors about a Television Series that was in the works called Star Wars The Clone Wars. Figuring I would give it a shot I waited till the magical day when it would premiere. When the time finally came around I was entertained by the show but I didn’t classify myself as a Star Wars fan again until the end of Season 01 when I saw a character who impressed me from the get go and that was the Duros Bounty Hunter Cad Bane. Sure I found characters like Asajj Ventress, General Grievous and Hondo Ohnaka to be cool characters but it wasn’t until Cad Bane came along did I finally start flying my Star Wars fan flag again and I started collecting more of the merchandise (figures, posters, role-play toys, vehicles, cardboard standees). There was also a point where I started making Youtube Videos using the footage from the show (http://www.youtube.com/user/JessicaBane501). But I will say the one thing I have come to really enjoy about the Star Wars franchise is the many friends I have made because of it and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything in the world and I don’t see myself turning my back on the Star Wars Franchise for a very, very long time. And that’s basically my story.

  1. Hey! – great to see you have started your own blog (I hope I don’t come across as a stalker or anything, but I saw this link on your DA page and couldn’t resist). Love your story about how you came to be a Star Wars fan. Funny how our stories are similar almost exactly, I’m not even kidding. Anyway, can’t wait to see what else you have in store on here 🙂

    • LOL, thanks for the comment! Wow, that’s really cool how our backstories in terms of becoming a fan are similar and I’m going to have SOOOOO much fun with this blog. 🙂
